What’s going on guys. Finally back in a tacoma after a couple years. Purchased a 2023 trd off-road long bed with premium package yesterday after a hell of a day trying to buy a lunar rock longbed initially and being lied to by a dealership (don’t shop at Salinas Toyota) . Here she is.

Ordered a bunch of small odd end this for the interior from meso and Tacoma lifestyle. Also tinted the windows yesterday. 15% ceramic all the way around with a brow.



my goal with every part is to get my kid into working on trucks. He already loves them so it should be fun. He’s been tinkering on my ram for small stuff already

 

Got to a couple things today.
ARE MX with vented windoors, slide rear windows. I need to find some led lights to wire inside.


Hit the first 100 miles.

Found some extra leds from the wife’s 4runner. They fit so that’s a win.

Seat jackers, just the front? Curious if I need to do the back of the seat too. I’ll take a pic of how it sits tomorrow with just the front.

Headstrong is having a diode deal so ordered some sport fog lights with backlight and backlight plug and play harness. It’s been getting foggy finally here so I’m hyped for those. Need to find some led headlights and taillights badly. These halogens are horrible

You sure aren’t wasting any time getting it how you want it.

 

I do like white vehicles. But my heart is always for colors but wasn’t meant to be on this one. I’ll get it to about 70% where I want it but I’ll have to wait on a lift wheels etc until these stock tires go bad.

After debating some lighting options. Got a nilight kit off Amazon. Best option was like 25 bucks came with three led light strips super bright could have got away with one strip. Hoping it does hold on though in our summer heat. Now I just need to start working on shades. Thinking about tinting the camper shell windows and then making some custom shades. Next on the list I’ll be waiting for a holiday to grab cbi sliders and a roof rack

 

Painted the grill black. Really dig it this way. I’m not quite sure why they don’t come stock like this. Not sure if I’m going to keep the Toyota emblem or not.

 

Ditch lights and auxbeam. Pretty sure the ss2s won’t be bright enough so I’ll wait for a sale to get some amber quads

 

You dont need the rear seat jackers. Its personal preference. But if you did want them, I have some that I could sell you for less than retail.

Auxbeam done. Only after this came apart. Now I just need mas lights. Thinking stealth bar and maybe bar on the roof rack. I’m just waiting for prinsu to have a sale so I can order the prinsu pro and sliders for the Tacoma and 4Runner

 

Did the shop charge you to take the original tint off or was that part of the pricing. Also do you mind telling us your cost for full 15% tint all around? Great build!

 

I do the tint over tint. It evens it out very well. It was $400 for the truck itself

Yeah I just got tint yesterday on the front passenger and driver. The guys at the shop told me factory tint is wedged in between the windows for newer vehicles thus the tint over tint. Weird how they do that.
