2006 4cyl 5 lug auto. What is everyone towing? I am looking to buy a camper or enclosed trailer conversion. Weight would be around 2500lbs total with gear. I have a weight distribution hitch with sway bar. Trans cooler. Is it possible with the 5 lug?? I'd be traveling thru elevation as I want to travel to west coast. Any advice would be greatly appreciated20200219_150504.jpg

A search shows the towing capacity to be 3500 lb. That should be listed in your owner's manual also.

I know the towing capacity of what the truck is rated. I'm looking for others that have towed with this specific truck and their experiences with the type of weight I described. The 5 lug suspension is different from other tacos. Towing that weight is one thing, but with an enclosed trailer I want to know if it's possible with that wind resistance.

I was always looking at what I could tow when I had a 2.7L 4cyl 2010 Taco. The 3500lb weight limit always scared me off of ever getting one. I always set myself a no more than half of the rated limit which is 1750lbs and that's including all the gear. These little trucks are capable, but towing is not their strong suit. If I really wanted to tow a full size trailer it would need to be with an big truck.

Opus Air 4. I pulled that thing everywhere. It’s a goat and can go wherever you do

Nice setup! What's your weight with gear and all?

Probably just over 3k. It’s a pig tbh. But it’s awesome. If I were looking to save weight I’d seriously consider the light model. It’s significantly lighter and you don’t loose much
