Good afternoon here at the east coast. I have to replace my up/down stream sensors. What was supposed to be a seemingly easy task has turned out to be a lot of research with no answers.
I have gone to 4 different sites and have gotten 4 different prices for both up and down ranging from $63 to $240. I know when it comes to spark plugs the brand isn't all that important. Has anyone here had to replace them and does brand matter and how much did the two cost. Any I formation would br great. Thank you for yalls time.

Go to the Denso website to find what part number to use for your truck. Denso only, and avoid Ebay/Amazon if you don't want knock offs

Omg they are expensive lol. . Maybe you know maybe not. Is it absolutely necessary to replace both up and down at the same time?

I bought the walker ones from rock auto - I dont have any miles on them yet but no error codes. Make sure to get the two different types. One has the longer cable that goes through the floor -- The connectors are different. I bought the wrong one and had to splice the cable. upload_2023-12-23_16-5-48.jpg

Threw a code for low voltage Bank 1 up stream 02 sensor. Truck smells really rich, mpg sucks at 15 on a good tank.

Lol I will make sure I get the right one than. Thx for the heads up. I have both of them from rockauto in the cart but read all kinds of bad stuff about not getting OE parts. I don't want to spend $200 on some off brands and 2 months later have to buy again.. you know.

Assuming your scanner can show live data. Does the sensor react if you create a small vacuum leak? Rich codes are kind of rare… if the sensor is stuck rich that is one thing. If the sensor shows rich due to a leaking injector, that is something else. I could very well be the sensor, but replacing it as a test…

I unfortunately do not have my own tester. I went to auto zone. The code didn't say rich, that was just my observation. I attached the photo. The rich smell and crap mpg started a few years ago when I switched to some off brand high flow intake filter. It's never ran the same. It makes no sense I know.

Is the intake filter oiled? That could foul your MAF sensor and create problems with air/ fuel ratios.
I would start with the front sensor only for that code. Aftermarket parts are not advised for O2 sensors

That’s the same code I got. Went to the Denso site to find the correct one. Switched out the Upstream A/F sensor. CEL has never come back on.

The P0031 code is for the heating circuit of the A/F sensor not the portion of the sensor that monitors how lean/rich the exhaust is. All the heater does is bring the A/F sensor up to temp faster so that the system can monitor and make changes during the warm up cycle.

Not bad at all. Just depends on if the nuts are easy to take off of the studs. As I started to take one off. The stud started to turn instead of the nut. I just took the whole stud out. It was much easier for me. Then there’s a plug there at the other end
I’m pretty sure I used a YouTube tutorial
