Oof. I've had the sniffles. Guess I'll have to whack it up my nose.

Funny enough i was at Tewkesbury yesterday @crashngiggles i know you're a big Treehouse guy. It was cramped because we only had inside to play with, and it was a busy time. But it's pretty cool.

I hate to side with the money grabber but i kinda have to agree. Yes the dividend is a good payout on the investment but they're also SWIMMING in dough from their success, and the investors helped them get there, and own part of the company (or should). The fact that it made it this far means there's a reasonable argument that he is owed more than that, and the article definitely reads of them trying to spin how significant his ROI is without showing how significant the owners made out on that initial investment.

But I'm far from in the loop.

We have a super efficient wood stove ( Vermont Castings) with a catalyst and use about 350 gallons . Picked up a grapple load of hardwood for $600 that should yield better than 8 cords . Enough to heat my small cape 5 years or more.

What I have left to split.
    IMG_0814.jpg

Will consider pellets beyond that. I do need to consider a location for a good size wood shed probably near the fence where it’s more level before I get that pile too big

The dealer I get my pellets from carries Vermont Castings - nice looking stoves.

I would love one of the new Harman pellet inserts, but $6k is a lot of money.

I had a really bad sinus infection in mid November. I went to urgent care and they tested me for Strep, Flu, and COVID. All were negative but it seemingly took forever to completely clear from my system. Whatever it was, fortunately my wife didn't get it.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Agreed.
We had a good interaction, they were very happy to make the complete sale prior to EOY. They didn't say that until after i signed though. The salesman's first response after i did the deposit was that they could hold it as long as I needed to given the distance i was traveling, holiday commitments, etc. I also didn't ask for much but meeting in the middle on price. I picked it up with a full tank of gas, freshly detailed that morning, and a brand new set of tires put on.
It also had everything that I wanted to add on with the exception of a tonneau cover. LED heads, side steps, full weathertech sets, etc.

Odd note, i got the message Saturday morning that the dealer accepted my offer. Friday night my daughter was gifted an Ikea gift card to refurnish her room with something other than her mismatched marketplace furniture i have accumulated over the past two years. (extremely generous gift from my inlaws) It was a 2-1/2 hour drive to the dealer in Old Saybrook. With about 30 minutes notice I convinced my wife to make the trip to Ikea so i dropped them off and drove to the dealer. The trade-in and paper signing took 40 minutes in total. I drove back to Ikea and met them. First experience there and we had no idea how intense it was. After collecting our packages, we were short a complete dresser and desk. We still had nearly 400lbs of boxed material and some that were 7' long. There was ZERO chance of me hauling this home in the Xterra. It ended up being a very fortunate coincidence that I did not plan. It ended up being a really long day (see below) but we knocked out a lot of post-holiday needs.

I don't know the exact details or legitimacy of the lawsuit but it seems the founders are in trouble.
I feel canceling shareholder meeting because of Covid will be EXTREMELY difficult to justify in court. There also seems to be a disconnect of treehouse setting a limit to how much they payout to investors on a time basis vs how much in total the investors are owed. As they continue to grow and gain value, will the initial investors ever receive the final payout? If the plaintiff made $850,000 in 12 years, that would have taken 42 years to pay him back?

Tree House said it told Granger in October, before he filed his suit in Hampden Superior Court, that he would receive a dividend of $5,000 per quarter — $20,000 per year — according to Tree House’s business projections. The dividends represent a 200% annual return on his $10,000 passive investment each year into the future.

    Ugh!

I got COVID for the first time ever this time last year after being at a wake with someone who absolutely should NOT have been there. I was raging. I've had it go through my house four? times now and legit thought I was immune. I'm super low on PTO right now so the thought of having to be out scares me.

Were the new tires part of the original deal, or was that a nice surprise? That's another at least ~$600 into the deal on your side if you wanted to look at it from that angle.

Things have a funny way of coming together..and my goodness, your daughter is just so cute!!

I'm curious if she's happier about the new furniture or thinking about getting the truck in a few years, haha

The past cracks me up sometimes. This dude is putting back together 40,000 tiny little pieces of fragments of the Dead Sea sectarian scrolls (religious texts from near Jerusalem ca. 1-3 AD), barehanded, in his lap, with a lit cigarette.

I work at a company that builds power supplies and different motor controllers and stuff. There’s pictures from the 80s where you can see the hotbox cloud and people hand soldering boards. Now they are all about esd safety and gloves and stuff. Most customers don’t want operators even touching anything. Ferrari is a pita about it

I must have missed it but they said they tread was low enough to not pass CT or NY safety inspection so needed to change them prior to letting it leave with a temp safety inspection under my name.
Also your truck sold me on going with a silver truck. It is my third silver vehicle. They stall clean looking, hide paint damage and contrast the trim really well. I plan on debadging/stickering and getting a PTM rear bumper caps.

She has 11 years before that lol. She was pretty upset that we were trading in the xterra. She cried Thursday when i was looking at trucks. She grew up in it and had a ton a memories in it. The couple outings where i actually justified the armor, locker, winch, etc, she has been on. I'm sure she will remember water crossings, three wheeling it with tires in the air and winter camping solo as a family while having to winch about 15 times while having a camper in tow (without a winch, I am confident that camping experience would have resulted in a divorce).

Perhaps, but teach 'em young is my motto (disclaimer, I do not have children haha). Though she'll always remember the new truck/new room day.

    Thank you!

I know they’re likely not the coolest tires, but still brand new tires is another plus for you regardless, right?

If a high efficiency 120vac/12vdc rectifier ever fell off a truck during a production run I'm sure I'd have the cash to cover the claim fees and customs charges, especially if it could push 30A or so. I wanna pump DC lighting and feed the batteries with a dedicated DC panel.
