Nothing yet, looking forward to doing some work on it. I am very limited in my knowledge but am anxious to learn via youtube and forums.
Hey There! I am excited to join this online forum. I just purchased a 2000 Red Tacoma SR5 1.5 cab, 2WD 2.4Cyl from my brother-in-law who moved to Japan with my sister. I have wanted one for a very long time! Ever since my buddy had a (new at the time) 2007 Green Tacoma 4WD. He would get around in the winter like no one else! He would end up pulling jeeps and full sized trucks out of ditches. I was entranced from that moment on but wasn't ever able to afford a Tacoma. Now that I have one I am in love with it. Old but good! I haven't done a lot to it yet and to be transparent I am not much of a mechanic. I typically limit myself to oil changes, battery change, alternator and really simple stuff. But I now have the inspiration to get my hands dirty and do as much as I can myself! I am short on funds after purchasing the truck but working towards a couple of things in the near future. Just cleaned up the headlights(small things go a long way for aesthetic) and replaced drivers side door handle. Ordered a new grill since the one I have is busted up a bit and paint is bubbling. Looking at also replacing the rear bumper that has rust damage with one on rockauto.com($200). Doesn't seem like a bad deal versus trying to salvage the current one and it still not look great(opinions?). I am limited by what tools I have but am willing to invest in ones that will get use. Considering trying to transition some of the chrome parts to black but not sure the best way to go about that, the new grill is all black. I eventually would like to do a small 1-2" lift and add some beefier tires, but the current ones have a lot of tread so not my top priority. The truck has a lot of miles on it, 225K. But I hope to keep it running for as long as possible! Sorry for the rant, I am all over the place this morning and 3 cups of coffee deep. I look forward to discussing Tacoma related stuff with you Guys and hopefully bending your ears on suggestions/questions in the future. Have a Happy New Year Everyone!

    -Ian

PS I'll try and get some better pictures for you Guys on a Sunny Day!

Update! I ended up replacing the grill and window weatherstrip. Also cleaned up the front bumper with one of those plastic restore kits. Pretty happy with how some small things make it look much better!
