the gear hunting and the slow timing is what I hate. You literally having to floor it to do anything sucks. Should be even response all the way through the pedal.

 

Nice. I'm thinking about that kit. As long as it's idiot-proof, for someone like me, I'm in.

All of that: GONE. Hanging RPMs at 2500-3k for so long to come up to speed getting on the highway was so annoying. Would have to floor it or release the pedal to get it to change gears. Forgive me, but I don't even think a pedal commander would help with that. I never had one. I thought it was really only the sensitivity of the pedal to remove the "sponginess". Not really addressing the rev hang.

 

I have some A/V experience but it was still pretty dummy proof and their install video was very well made. Took me like 45 minutes to complete the install.

 

Seems simple enough being plug & play. Would love to hear more opinions and other options. Not married to any one brand.. except bae.

 

Sounds like a winner to me. Has it made any difference on MPG since you've had it?

I will have to keep you posted on that but I fill up about every 2-3 weeks currently.

 

Ah, I daily mine, so improvements would help seal the deal. I'd imagine it would have to be, shifting up will get the RPMs down.

 

Yes. It's been reported that people have noticed improvements and I would assume it's from the RPM hangs. But if you have a heavy foot, it's probably the same or negligible.

 

House updates:

We learned the sellers actually rented this property. It was their primary residence at some point but for the last few years (I'm guessing pandemic to earlier this year) they used it as a rental to make money. So everything inside is renter grade...

Been updating things here and there as we can:

- missing window screens on all the second story windows except 2; cooler temps means the AC turns off and the windows are opened. Really happy with it.

- lack of GFCI outlets where there should be; new GFCI outlets in the front and back of the house on the pool patio. Still learning about the house and the circuits in the house and what connects to what. For example, learned that the front porch outlet and pool patio outlet are tied into the garage GFCI outlets.

- new garage door openers for both doors; the third bay door never had a garage door opener and the main door opener was original, exploded at some point and they replaced the original opener with the wrong size. There were barely 2 bolts in the ceiling. Replaced the main door with a 3/4hp belt driven Chamberlain opener and the small door got a 1/2 hp belt driven Chamberlain opener. New keypads and all setup through our phones and battery backup. Love it.

- had the tech adjust the door to open fully above the headers on both doors so I clear the door when pulling in and out. Plenty of space, now.



- Next up? Lights. Only one of those light fixtures work; not a bulb issue either. It's definitely a ballast.
- got the new lights in a box ready to go. Just need time and might need an extra hand or two.

- started playing around with the front wall of the third bay. I'm thinking that will be where my triple bank will live. I was thinking about putting my workbench there so that it can store up on the wall when not in use but I feel that would just be a waste. I will be getting a new mitre saw and get a cart setup to work with the existing work bench and a flip up extension for longer cuts of wood. All on wheels so everything is dynamic; of course. I need to figure out where to and how to better store my RTT, too. It's against the wall in a corner but I need to figure out where it will live to better be out of the way. Maybe a ceiling mount above the triple bank; not above or next to a vehicle.

Started on the back wall with a few momentos and started laying out some possible configurations:

Config #1 - 2 gladiator cabinets and a TV (spare TV left by the sellers that was outside on the pool deck)



- not bad but no space for what I wanted to do. Cabinets would be too high, no storage above the cabinets. I could lower them, but no horizontal space for what I want to do.

Config #2 - 2 gladiator cabinets and no TV



- space above the cabinets but no room for a TV. Space feels cramped between the cabinets and the workspace on the triple bank. Thought about mounting the TV to stow away vertically and then use a TV arm mount to pull out to use. But then I can't open the cabinets to access items.

Config #3 - repurposed cabinets with a TV and possibly a pegboard mounted on either side of the TV



- wife wants to remove a cabinet from the laundry room and said I can reuse it in the garage. Horizontal line is the bottom of the cabinet with a TV mounted below. Considering a pegboard mounted on either side for additional storage. I'll put a light underneath to light up the triple bank work surface as well.
- TV can be mounted lower on the wall to move the cabinets down and allow for storage above the cabinets for items as well.

I also ordered a wall mounted tool organizer from Amazon with some Milwaukee battery holders for M18 and M12 batteries. Still waiting for the M12 battery holders which were supposed to be here yesterday. This is what configuration #3 would be with the tool organizer mounted up.



I was also able to get out last weekend and get some fishing done. Couple dinks but better than getting skunked. Pretty wild to be out in 75-80 degree weather in November being from the Midwest. By now, the water would be freezing up and not fishable for 4-5 months up north. Hell, it snowed on Halloween where we came from.





Gotta love it.

 

Another solid weekend getting on em. Got 5 and missed 3. The missed trio stayed on til the bank and came off. They were fun bites. One hit right at the bank reeling the craw like a top water.

 

Thinking about french cleating the entire wall where the triple bank will be, now. Well, from the top of the box all the way up. Then, I can french cleat the cabinet I will be reusing and TV mount so I can arrange accordingly or even remove all together.

I'm liking that idea the best so far..

 

Got on em again this weekend..landed 5 missed 2 but had a reason..

Tried a new color on the rage craw to switch things up and also had a second rod with a curly tail worm in junebug. Ended the afternoon with the biggest on a junebug rage craw. They seem to like junebug best.











House mods coming. Starting on landscaping too. Mostly removal of what we don't want moving forward. Been trimming back bushes, cleaning up old wiring for flood lights that no longer exist, bad outlets, cleaning up weeds and overgrown flower bushes, dead plants that were neglected, trimming palm trees, and we have new driveway lights coming and a retractable garden hose reel to mount on the side of the house. Working hard around here.

Been working hard around the house the last few months:



- new king size bed and bed frame
- 150' retractable garden hose mounted
- had the sprinkler system converted to a well.
- switched my old office to the old gym and vis versa.
- put up a mirror wall and lighting



- fixed a few more exterior outlets, too.

- purchased an adequate tree for the front room...you versus the guy she tells you not to worry about.

Nice house mods! I haven’t done anything to my truck for a while because I’ve been dumping money into a bunch of house upgrades.

Recessed lighting, radon mitigation system, French drains that completely waterproofed the basement, landscaping.

It’s cool to see someone else doing the same type of stuff!

 

Ive been secretly doing in the background of truck mods. Going to do some more this year too. Biggest house mod I did was get my principal under 50k. Close to paying it off, and moving
