I am installing the pop and lock to my Leer 100xr. I plan on tapping my existing tail gate pop & lock.

What I’m curious of is how to get the wires from the lock, across the glass, and to the wiring harness.

Also, would it make sense for me to try to tie into the TAG fuse box?

    Thanks in advanced!

Hey, super later but I ended up just sending it and wiring the pop and lock, it was pretty dang easy! Let me know what questions you have.

The hardest part was finding the MOLEX pins to plug into the tag fuse box, but a member here sent me a few.

I basically just tapped into the tail gate pop & lock with the included wire taps, but I will eventually go back in and replace those with something a little more beefy.

Never in a rush I am still wrestling with shell or tonneau I keep looking for a day to go to leer dealer and make a decision but avoiding all holiday traffic and people and noise I will keep you posted if I actually leave the farm one day. I have had Tacoma 13 months only have 1,704 miles on it hahahahahaha

I’d say tonneau if you need to haul stuff often, canopy if you use your truck as an suv.

I miss having no vertical limits for hauling, and I will probably never take the canopy off. My dad lives nearby so if I need to move a barbecue or something, I’ll just grab his truck lol

How does the actuator attach to the lock? Wondering if I can adapt it to a DCU cap.

A quick google search for a DCU, I don’t think the latches would fit the particular pop and lock.

This unit basically just slides over the locking cylinder so it cannot freely rotate.

Oh, I know it won’t just fit, but wondering how much adapting I would need to do

I’ve read the instructions but without having that style cap I don’t understand how the actuator works. Does it rotate? Is it linear?
