JBA UCA bushings, in air, or under load?

    I remember talking to someone from JBA a year or two ago, and he mentioned that the only bushings that need to be tightened under vehicle weight, are bushings that are bonded to the sleeve (I can't remember the proper term. Vulcanized?) like LCA, shocks, etc. He said that bushings like JBA UCA bushings can be torqued in the air, because they're able to move in their sleeve. Makes sense, just curious if that's the common POV in bushings, or an outlier?

    Yes the only bushing you need to torque while on the ground are rubber style bushing that don’t truly turn but rely on torsion to help absorb bumps i.e. rubber OEM bushings. Although I’m sure lots of people will say to torque everything on the ground for peace of mind

    Don't have to torque on the ground, so torque it as you see fit, drive it, then check it again on the ground.

    OEM 100% need arms leveled prior to torquing, but these are not needed. Typically it will even say that in the instructions.

    I learned this the hard way with a shock bushing.

    I suppose it doesn't hurt to just torque it all under weight though.

    Torque at ride height is for rubber bushings to prevent premature tearing.
