No matter how bad off you are, there is always someone having a tougher time.

But that doesn't make it easier when you've just come up against tough times yourself.

I'm sure we have all had wonderful years and shitty years - this one in particular is shit for a lot of people. I've had a tough time myself these last couple of months getting work, but luckily, my wife's job is still there.

My wife and I will not be able to see our family this year, for various reasons, so we will be going into the city (NYC) for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to try to have a little fun and our own Christmas to remember.

Anyway, I just want to say that having forums like this are great for both sides - being able to vent and ask for support, and also being there to offer support to others.

I really appreciate this, and hope that everyone can find a little bit of hope and happiness this Holiday!

    .......I've had a couple beers....and just rambling

Hey Will and OTG, things will be looking up in 2009 for you both!
I can just feel it in the crisp air on the first day of Winter. It sure has been a doosey up here!

MotoK -- Merry Christmas from the Northeast, you gotta a nice tacoma there --- take it out and tear up the trails with some local TW off roaders, there's a bunch far as I can see posted up here!

Sorry about losing your parents. My Dad died in 96, now my brother, sister and I make sure Mom is ok. Good memories stay in your heart forever!

sorry things are shitty for ya right now will. Normally i say Christmas is all about family and friends but sometimes you gotta look out for #1. if your family is a stressor just leave them out this year and you and Boobs just relax and enjoy each other. i think having dinner at your recently deceased father's house is pretty macabre and if it bothers you i dont think there is anything wrong with telling them you cant have a happy Christmas there and you wont be able to make it.

family...hers and mine, are a pretty big part of the stress factor dude. me and boobs had a helluva argument last night.....one in which one of us should have left and cooled down..........but we both said some shit we shouldnt have.........and i fully take most of the blame for it. one thing she is mad about is because we made up our minds that we arent doing gifts for each other this year..............we both agreed about a month or so back. now.......you got it.....she's pissed that we aint doing it!! cany t win for losing sometimes/damned if ya do...damned if ya dont. we'll get it all squared away in a day or so though. and as far as celebrating christmas at my Dad's house........aint happening for me................we can go and eat dinner somewhere, but thats about as much as im gonna agree on, and i'll leave it at that.

Before I looked at my grades from this semester I wasn't feeling too bad. But as of this afternoon I'm pretty fucking pissed off.

I get to retake a class. Technically I didn't fail it (D), but since I didn't get a good enough grade it doesn't count for my major, so I basically failed it.

He emailed me back and said there were some grading errors on the final, so I ended up with a C in the class.

    SCHWING. Pretty happy right now.

My Christmas is going to be so hard this year. I've got to go to my in laws house 20 minutes away for a few hours and then I've got to drive to my parents house 30 minutes away for a few hours. I don't know how I'm going to handle all this family stuff. /sarcasm.

This is a shitty year end for me.....I have my family and for that I am greatful. I have my health and for that I am greatful. I have a roof over my head and for that I am greatful.....I have much to be greatful for, but sometimes that just isn't enough.

This isn't to depress anyone or ruin anyone elses Christmas, but for those that aren't feeling it this year, you're not alone.

Oh and Will, last year my wife, kids, and I stayed home for Christmas. We told everyone if they wanted to see us, they knew where we lived. It was awesome. Sometimes a quiet holiday at home can't be beat.

We did this Will and very glad we did. We also told family they couldn't come visit until after noon, so the wife and I could have our own 'Santa' time with our children. No hard feelings in the family either. Stick to your guns right off the bat on this one. When the kids got to be 7, we started traveling around again.
