I bought some led strips and stuff to hopefully make my own light kit. See how it works out it’s really hot here during the summer months so I’m interested to see if they glue and hook and loop hold during it

Late to the party, but I have zero regrets. Especially useful if you intend to sleep in it.

Thanks! 1/2" aluminum tubing, mounted to the internal framing of the windoors w/ 90 degree brackets and tube clamps. Measured, cut, and sewn with the help of my brilliant mother. Also sewed in three patches of hook and loop, which allows me to affix the bottoms either to the topper window sill or double them over on themselves so that I can reach through the side windows.

i know this was covered before but i had my camper shell install and our first rain the front of my ARE leaked an amazing amount. I'm going to take it back to the shop what was the fix for this? i do see that there is a weather strip in the front. i just want to fix it for good before i dip into anything else.

There’s a few gaps in the corners that my canopy company filled with butyl tape prior to install.

I have a leer and it did leak a little. The gaps are where Toyota joins the bed together. Probably not the installers “job” to seal since it’s actually a gap in the bed. I’ve read a lot of guys pull the rail caps and seal those and corner gaps before installation. I didn’t know about all that before. Maybe at night, have someone hold a flashlight in the inside of the bed and look for light on the outside. Might point you in the right direction

I bought a new Leer and the dealer couldn't seal it in 3 tries. Gave me my money back and I bought a ARE. No leaks. All have problems getting sealed.

Four things that shouldn't leak, your roof, your tent, your condom and your truck cap,

what are did you get? I’ve got the Mx. and I’m pretty sure the leak is coming from between the camper and bed closes to my cab

A very common leak. The dealer should have sealed it as there is a gap between the bed itself. I am going to make sure the dealer seals it before they install my cap.

I think they tried to put some weather stripping there but definitely wasn’t enough

Just got a Leer 100XR with sliding windoors both sides. We had a week of rain and not too impressed with the water tightness of the windoors. It seems to be from the poorly placed weep holes in the sliding portion of the window. Has anyone found a solution for this?

take it to the shell dealer and they will fix it if you got it as new. They won’t charge you for that.

I think it has to do with alignment on them?

Not sure what model Leer this is, but it was in near perfect shape when I got it (used). I left it gray for a while, but decided to paint it with bedliner after a few months.

Also added Yakima rails so I could mount my Prinsu rack.

azhiazaim and Tazminator I am going to go back to the "dealer" and talk to them about it but to me they are really just an installer. Hopefully they can offer a solution but based on the sloppy install I am not expecting much.
