The dealer i go to makes short walk around videos showing you what they performed and inspected. Sounds like your dealer is rushing entry levels techs to complete an oil change.

As far as the waste oil...I truck it down to our recycling shack about 3 mile drive, and pour it into their designated barrels. You just sign the sheet what you did, and verify the town you're from. Pretty painless...seems no one is ever there.

I took my 2.7L in for the first oil change/tire rotation since the truck is almost one year old and most of my trips are around town. They did both jobs without argument even though my mileage is only 3K. They also inspected the vehicle for any issues. Their service facility has about 16 individual service bays and you can view it through a huge window in the waiting area. The entire service area is like a clean room, and all the techs wear uniforms and seem to know what they are doing. No screw-ups on my job...plus I checked the oil level prior to leaving and even looked at the filter via the wheel well. After I got home I doubled checked that the new filter was tight and not leaking..and again checked the oil level.

Our 2019 Toyota Highlander had a fuel pump recall done last year, so I watched as that tech performed that service. He had to remove the middle seat to access the pump, and he used what appeared to be a clean bucket as he lifted out the old fuel pump from the tank. I was concerned that my new vehicle would smell like gas but it didn't, and I don't think he spilled any. I couldn't find any issue with his work either...no paint scuffs and no issue with my upholstery.
I'm not very trusting when it comes to getting work done on my vehicles, and normally I do all of my own work...but I feel pretty good about this dealership.

It’s funny how that works. I ask them to match internet pricing and tell them I’d rather support my local community so it makes their “numbers” look better. Also said this before on here, donuts can go a long way with part guys.

Truck is probably OK, and had some oil the whole time. Definitely need to drain to full line. Never go back to that dealer, and do your own oil changes.

OP guess what labor is on changing your own oil properly in a parking lot that doesn’t require jacking due to tall truck

VAG has required videos for years.

I do pretty much all my own service.... especially oil changes.... Buy Synth 0w20 (have 13 5qt jugs on the shelf) when on sale and OEM filters with there is the 25% off sale (I have 20 on the shelf)
ALso got the Valvomax Oil Drain Valve.

Changes are about $20 per... can be done in 20 Mins, which is quicker than going to a dealer and waiting, no gas/mileage driving there, done correctly. Biggest pain is dropping off the oil at and Auto parts store..... Still easier.....
