Again, recall probably already taken advantage of. And my truck currently has 4 leaves.
Should I stick with horizontal 4 leaves or upgrade to something slightly stronger?

    More leafs is higher height

cheapest smallest amount of lift is $90 AAL

need is partly dictated by amount of load you intend to carry
For example 200lb fiberglass shell on stock pack = bro lean

RockAuto probably sells OEM or equivalent packs that would be a big waste of money if it ends up sitting and riding exactly the same

last failure I saw was on an old F150 that’s known to do it, was pretty obvious
One of the leafs broke in half and turned to scrape the exhaust. Affected side sat lower and rode worse.

Thank you, I assume bro lean means if I carry 200lbs regularly that my truck will squat in back. Anyway I carry about 50 lbs 80% and something ridiculous about 15% and idk 1k the other 5%.

Should I get oem or something stronger? If something stronger what will not add more than 1.5 inches to back end?

each leaf adds height and load carrying capacity, reducing sag and axle wrap

ie why AAL adds a leaf. I’ve heard the Icon progressive AAL kit is the best AAL but costs more than a regular AAL.

same reason if you look at other packs they tend to have a bunch more leafs in them like Icon RXT.

really up to you if you notice it sag a lot.

some cars have manual adjustment knobs for headlight height
Or auto leveling that runs off a sensor on the suspension
    that the Tacoma doesn’t have

regarding times where the rear will occasionally tilt back no matter what
Like moving with a Uhaul trailer

AAL is cheaper than a whole pack

Icon RXT can be found used for $300 but set to op2 or 3 is a big amount of lift and requires extended brake lines. AAL might even recommend longer brake lines too. Which are not a bad idea to replace tired old ones with new SS anyway.

AAL will probably keep it at 1.5-2” max and lower a little bit over time as it settles after install.

RXT is an upgrade in ride quality but anyone who does that also has some lift in front

So, if I replace or keep these leafs with OEM and add the buffer for extreme weight like I mentioned I should stay level? Should I just AAL? So how do I know if these need replacement?

    What is SS?

What is a good replacement for stock?

They either have an obvious issue or they don't. Like extreme sagging. Or breaking in half.
If it's 300k miles and rusted.

Or, as someone mentioned, another option is air bags.

Some folks do Chevy leaf springs conversion but for more travel.

What you choose is determined by personal preference. A pack like RXT means higher height. That people match with higher front and bigger tires. If they're off roading and have a use for higher clearance. That also reduces MPG.

I did not want lift and had a slight "w" driver side leaf, so I bought takeoffs from an owner on Facebook marketplace and offer up. Cheap and better than a w.

Have a Dealer run the VIN. It'll take the mystery out of whether they been replaced under a recall.

You can get anything you might want from a custom spring company like these guys.
These guys have a wealth of knowledge, give great advice, have seen it all ,and have been in business a long time with prices that are WAY cheaper .
I’ve used them for literally a 100 different spring applications for my previous business and never had any issues so if you can find a local spring company close to you they are the way to go based on my previous experiences.
