bought truck 3 years ago with 70,000. immediately changed everything with combo of redline and amsoil as soon as i got it home. has 85k now and thinking i may do p/s and brake fluid and coolant soon. I like to create a new baseline with any rig i get, and probably change all at 50k intervals. not super particular about kinds of oil used... but i am about coolant, and only use the makers brand wether its honda, toyota, dodge, etc.

Changed my tranny fluid and filter yesterday at 270k. Wish I hadn't. Got impatient and stripped out a bolt on the trans pan so now it'll probably leak forever

I have a weird vibe in lower gears under slight acceleration especially near and during the shift. It's always been there. 2021 w/ 14k miles (about half on desert trails) and just had the tranny flushed. Still has the vibes but shifts way smoother (didn't think it was a problem before but super smooth now). Did the dif and transfer cases at about 10k. Fluid looked pretty good, but the diff was certainly darker (unsurprisingly)

Mines an AT. Every 50K miles the tranny, t-case, and diffs get changed out. Not flushed, just drained and filled.

There are primarily 2 types of people on tacomaworld. The ones that overly maintain. And the ones that never maintain.

There are a rare few that do maintenance based on use, experience, and convenience. I fall into that category.

I neglect the things that are less important. Like differentials. But I eventually get to them. When it’s convenient for me to do them.

first thing i did after driving my tacoma home, was pull it into my shop and checked diffs and transfer cases, even with the paperwork in the glove box saying it had been done recently. transmission I didn't check after seeing all the other stuff was in fact true and clean and clear. just like the shop paperwork said.

I wouldn't say I neglect anything but this is synthetic and it's viscosity is engineered different then conventional fluids and since I don't offroad or tow the wear is less.

I did my trans dump at 60K and now finally getting around to the diffs and transfer case at 103K

Does anyone know the weight of the fluid and amount for the tacoma TRD 2016 Trans case?
