I've posted about this in here before, but the problem has gotten worse. For some reason, my hood is lifting on the sides. It started with he driver side, and now it's on both sides. In addition, the hood is getting harder and harder to open and close, to the point that I can see the hinge attachment points flexing when I open and close the hood. Anyone have a clue as to what could be causing this? The rubber bumpers under the hood are turned all the way down. I know there is a small crack in the core support. I plan to relocate the battery, but I don't think that's what's causing this. Also, the rest of the body panels seem to line up just fine.

You know how to lube stuff?
Have you ever lubed all your hinges on that truck?
I can’t believe someone hasn’t asked you if you lubed the hinges
    if you posted this before.
Kinda late now, looks like you’ve bent the hood and hinges and or hinge points.

    Yep.
You need two new hinge assemblies...

Uh, y'know, I've lubed everything else on the truck pretty religiously. UCA's, Leaf bushings, ball joints, etc etc. Not sure why I never thought about lubing the hood hinges. Hinges are cheap enough. I'll pick up a set and see if it helps anything.

I don’t think it will fix everything. I’ve seen this before and I believe you have bent the mounting points in the hood. I could be wrong but I done think so. You said there is a crack already. The longer you wait the worse it will be.
Not going to hurt to throw some oil on this hinge pivots.

The crack is in the core support. So maybe a separate issue but yes, I plan to fix that ASAP as well.

    Good luck.
Let us know back here how it’s going. Could be a important teaching moment for others.

I was ready to take it to the frame shop, suspecting a bent frame. I'm glad you mentioned the hinges. Worst case, seems like new hinges, and a new hood. Not as bad as I was expecting.

My new hinges got delivered yesterday. Looks like the fenders are going to have to come off to get the hinges off. I hate removing body panels.:mad:

Are u sure you can’t reach with the fender still on. I think two bolts from the top. The back bolt is real tight but, with a bit of ingenuity….????
