I am an avid ebayer and when it comes to vehicles, i will travel anywhere in the US to get what I am looking for. I had my heart set on a first generation Tacoma. After a couple months of looking i found what i thought was my dream truck in Jacksonville FL. The factory sunroof, v6, 5speed combo was my choice.
I am experiencing some issues with regards to the cold weather up here. I need to find out what oils to use in the transfer case, transmission and rearend. Any suggestions??

Welcome to TW. When I was working in Alberta with my 5 speed Nissan I ran ATF in the winter in the tranny, diffs 75-90w or a synthetic gear oil. Don't forget LSD additive it you've got one. Do you have the factory service manual? It has engine oil recommendations otherwise I would say a synthetic 5-30w. Check your plugs and you fuel filter as well.

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
Mobil1 is making a 0W-30 that should tolerate -40 degree temps. Their synthetic ATF and gear lubes are supposed to handle very cold temps well also, although I can't find an actual "rated down to" listing on their website.

-40 c or f? Still that is damn cold, my older pickup use to make all sorts of groans and noise below zero especially the ADD. Maybe a engine block heater mod?

I pulled my Taco out of the US too and I haven't had any issues with the cold yet (2007 PreRunner). I had the block heater put in a couple of weeks ago (just in time).

    LOL -40C = -40F
