Yeah I think they do list them at 5mm for a stock truck for a 2” lift. Please let me know what your measurements end up being after installing your accessories.

Well guess you didn’t read my other responses where I said you would cook your shocks? Where you would bottom out your suspension? I guess that isn’t “1st hand real world advice.” It looks like you own a GX470? We have a 2010 GX460 sitting at our beach house with remote Elka’s installed. Come follow us on a dune run for a short while and see how your rig reacts and handles and then I’ll let you drive our 460 for a few minutes and then you WILL feel the difference a “good” suspension can and will make. That will be 1st hand education for yourself will it not? Will be on the coast this weekend in fact.

One thing that most of the mentioned adjustable coilovers have in common is eibach springs. I assume the BP51s use their own coil which may be sagging more than the eibachs we’re all used to.

You mentioned ordering them with the optional 650lb springs but then also mentioned heavy duty springs are not an option, a little confusing but I may not be understanding correctly. Either way it’s worth confirming with OME if a 650 or 700 is available and simply swapping out the springs for the weight of your add-ons.

In summation, OME springs have been known to sag unless using the 700lb option. You’re shocks are also adjustable while in the vehicle. Jack it up until the wheel hangs, try leaving the wheel on to have gravity on your side and lube not only the threads but also the upper mounting surface of the coil where it meets the adjustment collar.

I was talking about the Bilsteins when I was talking about getting the 650lb springs.

I know when I originally ordered these ARB told me they didn’t offer any other springs that would work with the BP51. That might have changed since I purchased them and I have emailed ARB to find out if they have a stiffer spring available now.

I don’t think it’s possible to adjust the preload on these when mounted on the truck as the springs are still heavily sprung even when jacked up with the wheel hanging. And there isn’t a way to mount a spring compressor when mounted or getting the pin wrench on it to spin the collar. Also not sure if the locking collar screw is accessible either. I honestly have never even looked to see if it’s possible but I guess anything is possible. If you have done it when mounted or know of a video showing this being done with these shocks please send it my way as that would make it quicker and easier to adjust these. But honestly I’ve removed the front shocks so many times on these Tacoma’s that it’s really a fairly easy and quick task to do.

    Thanks for the post.

C4 fabrications front, and rear bumper with tire swing out, sliders, skids, and otf kit. Running 35 km3, with stealth custom series ray 10’s. OME bp-51 lift Spc uca’s. Retrax one xr with uptop bed rack, front runner roof rack and 23 zero armadillo rtt.
Old thread but I’ve ran these on my Tacoma for the last year: I really like the compression and dampening adjustment, but the front coils are a pain to adjust those settings. As far as the spring rate and sag they are terrible. Mine have settled so low that I have a major rake issue even though I’ve maxed out the spring according to ARB specs . 2nd to adjust the height of them they have to be removed from the vehicle . ARB gives special instructions on how to adjust and it’s a pain too. Threads are poorly made and mine are screwed up. If you have anything more than a simple stubby bumper I’d look elsewhere. Next time I’ll do more hw when I replace them.
