My RCI sliders arrived and, like many others, the box was ripped and the powder coated surface scratched off on a few different spots. I realize they will get scratched from use, but I would like to touch up the areas before I install them.

Thinking something like rustoleum hammered finish spray paint? Any suggestions on what others have used?

    Thanks.

Krylon semi flat black is a match. Got mine off Amazon. I was in the same boat. Touched mine up and they look perfect. Make sure you contact RCI they have a process in place, they just need pictures.

I bought my RCI's bare, and used a roll on bed liner,,, it's been very tough, and only now needs touched up for the second time in over 4 years, and that's only the underside corners, that I probably didn't get real well in the first place.

    Spray on bedliner works well.

I use a flat paint & primer. Any rattle can major brand. Spray some in a cup and use a small brush for narrow long scrapes.

No coating is going to survive rocks. I have used a cheap rattle can to coat the bare metal gouges to prevent rust, but as years go by I’m finding less motivation for it.

good point! this is why I initially went the DIY route, so I can touch up.
And, it sounds like even the best brands have marginal powder coating.

I just rattle can them. The only way to get pristine sliders is to buy them from the manufacturer.

I ordered mine powdered coated because of laziness, damage is usually limited to the bottom and sides of the sliders, and I live in the inner city with limited space to do mechanical stuff. 4 years later, The powder coat is mostly intact, but there are many gouges into the steel with some covered in cheap spray paint.

Thanks - I have the Cali-raised with the line-x coating (or whatever product they used). It is very strong, is holding up great and has put-up with a lot - but nothing will hold up to rock-sliding...
Since I am not crawling it is mostly wear as steps which is negligible - but I am glad to see these products being available for touch-up.

Thanks for choosing us! It's normal for it to not hold when rock sliding as the sliders will get scratched from use. If you have any questions please let us know :)
