I have an 79 F350 and the factory radio finally stoped working. It is a shaft mount radio. I want to keep the dash stock so cutting the factory plastic for a single DIN is out of the question. I looked at the retro sound stuff and that is too much money for this project truck, so, who has an older working stereo they dont want too much for? I cant tell you how many of these things I threw in the trash over the years…

this is a case where used on ebay might be one of your last chances.

after that, most appear to start at $80

i used to have a few up until i moved out of my parents house, but i tossed some during the move, and my parents likely tossed the rest-- they were never worth much. i know one is in my brothers '85 ski boat, but i don't know how eager he's willing to leave a hole in the dash.

otherwise, i know of a few solutions for a 'hidden' or 'headless' setup, which would consist of a bluetooth connection and a low powered amp to power up the factory speaker(s) if you're interested, but in all reality, will likely come near the $50-80 mark anyways.

I’ve got one of these powering some speakers in my kid’s Barbie Jeep and it is surprisingly good for $30. Bluetooth and aux. wire the speakers up and stick it in the glove box or under the dash
