    Well, that sucks!

Seems like it's become more challenging to find the elusive STANT locking gas cap...not that I've been looking! lol

I've had mine for some time...March of 2022 (Post#67) according to my thread recollection.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-sport-5-14-2021-loving-my-3rd-gen-tacoma.738836/page-4

It gave me a reason to buy the Gas Cap Holder too! lol

    Happy Taco Driving!

If I wasn't so cheap I would have purchased the Westcott Design ones. Those welds are truly a work of art.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Could just be the switch to winter blend (depending on where you live) Can't see the gas cap causing that dramatic of a drop in mileage.

Did the weather go from temperate to pretty cold? that can have a big effect on gas mileage...

I am not dismissing that. This is my first winter with the Tacoma instead of my Corolla. Still, a tank or two with the old cap is a no-risk test.

I just glanced at the hardware as I was getting it off to prep but if I recall correctly it came with 24 grade 8 bolts so 12 per side and a few spacer per side. I’ll look and snap a pic of the hardware bag in the morning before work

My V6 Grand Prix was like this. I got spoiled by my squirrel-wheel-driven Corolla.

I also remind myself that 17 MPG, 19 MPG or even 32 MPG ... pretty poor progress for the combined intellect of the world given 100+ years since the ICE came along. <sigh>

The answer to this thread is, took my 23 OR to get tail lights fixed. $800 later I'm supposed to have working lights tomorrow.

Long story short, I'm an idiot, a spiteful one at that. Blew out a fuse box putting led lights in.

Ahhh woodgrain vinyl sides. I had a Buick station wagon green with woodgrain. Much like the "Vegas vacation" movie. Carried spouse, 3 kids, dog, me and 3 weeks of stuff. Folded down back seat and put out sleeping bags for kids, dog and stuff. No seat belts cause no crash would hurt it. It had a 403 4 barrel and could burn rubber and haul ass way more than the Taco.

Damn! That sucks! Glad nobody got hurt (I’m assuming) and glad the taco wasn’t engulfed in flames. :nuclear:
