Interior mod for switches

I always thought this plastic was a waste of space, so I bought $30 worth of switches, USB charger and a 12v cigarette lighter outlet from Amazon. Then got a 2'×2' piece of sheet metal from tractor supply for $60 (pretty steep for metal). Then copying the angles and shape of the original I was able to fab up a this. Cool weekend project for those who are willing to try make something you can't buy.
Next will be a center console that can utilize the provided space more efficiently and possibly fit a third cup holder. I plan on starting that after I install my elocker.

 

Do you use the cubby under your single DIN head unit?

If not Paranoid Fabrications’ switch panel is perfect.

 

I like your set up! Unfortunately I do use that cubby. I've got a single cab and don't have much space when I have a passenger. I use that cubby for my phone and wallet when I'm driving. I also thought of making a spot for switches where my rear view mirror is mounted. Making a housing for 4 switches, and keeping the mirror and cab light.
