So, I have 285 75 16 on stock TRD wheels right now,(3.5 inch lift) I am looking to upgrade to new wheels. I was wondering what the lowest offset i could go without needing to get a CMC. The wheels I am currently looking are 16x8+1mm and I just don’t know if they will fit without a cab mount chop. My tires right now, rub a bit at full turn. I also don’t do very extreme off roading and really only use the truck on the road. Any feedback helps. Thanks

If you’re rubbing on stock wheels, you’re gonna rub more on the 8” +1s. Do you know what the wheel specs on the oe wheels are? Are you running a spacer with the oe wheel?

I looked it up and I’m pretty sure the stocks are 16x7 +25. I’m ok with trimming plastic around the fender well but don’t want to have to get a CMC. No spacers right now, I had 1/4 inch spacers but they made my truck wobble so I took them off

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
If you don’t off-road you can get away without the cmc, if you do off-road with 285s you’ll need to cmc. 0 or +1 are pretty much the same, and 0 is pretty much the easiest offset to work with for fitting tires. If you can swing it spc ucas or Icons or whatever can really help with wheel alignment to avoid cutting.

Is the full lock rub on the cab mount only? How about the stock upper control arm clearance at +25 offset?
I did not know it was possible.

It’s because the factory wheels only 7” wide. It’s just 4.5 backspace.

According to tiresize.com, a 7" wide wheel at +25mm offset, which the offroad stock size is, converts to 5" of backspace.

4.5" backspace on a 7" wide wheel converts to +13 offset, which is closer to where I thought UCA clearance was clear.

Yep. You’re correct I forgot about the 1/2” add for the wheel edge.

Every mm front, back, up, inside, all of them, are the difference on fitment. It is tight everywhere
