Two changes ago I ordered the Amsoil Tacoma oil change kit that came with 7 qts of Signature 0W-20 oil and the nice filter. I went with OEM this last time but will go back to the Amsoil filter kit next time.

This thread was very helpful, I had a Toyota OEM parts store order that hadn't shipped and was way behind the usual timing of shipping. I reached out with an email and linked this thread for them, and they were able to get it sent the next day after removing the TRD Oil Filters from the list and refunding me. So it was definitely this part being cancelled that was causing the holdup and they just hadn't heard about the part being discontinued yet.

:( Guess it's a good thing I have a few in the garage. Hopefully they'll come back.

I ordered them in bulk a while back as both the cars I had at the time ran them. IDR how much I paid.

The signature series also says the oil is good for that duration and I don't let the oil run that long even though I've sent the oil out for testing with blackstone labs. For me I figured I'm already going through all the steps and saving $20 something bucks to me isn't worth it for peace of mind.

Did you actually get them, I'm trying to order some now.

UPDATE: Got the call am hour after I placed the order, TRD OIL Filters no longer available.
Bought the Amsoil ones, not doing the cheap ones from Toyota.
$17/each for the Tacoma, not bad, but, $47/each for the 4Runner, FML!
Think I'm gonna have to start daily driving the Taco now..

Cost me a hundred grand when I bought the Mugen parts, now it would be 200 grand. And still slower than a ragged out old Tesla.

Strap a sheet of plywood to a piano dolly and carry it home. Anything is a truck if it can haul a full sheet of plywood.
Might cool off that 200k burn

    And, flack Tesla!

I'm not sure if it's the same in the US, but in Canada my Toyota dealer pointed out that the PTR4300079 was superseded by PTR43-00079; same number but apparently in Toyotaland the dash matters. Just my 2 cents.

Are there actually any TRD branded parts for public consumption that are a result of the Racing Development program?

    Not aware of any.

Seems to be more of a fan-boi profit adder.

^I thought TRD has always been just an accessory brand? Actual racing was done under TMG and later Gazoo names.

I agree they are accessories, but the name Toyota Racing Development (TRD) implies more.

But the trucks that have TRD stickers are faster, right? :D

^Absolutely. I even installed a JDM red carbon fiber TRD emblem for the fuel cap:

    JDM +5hp
    red +5hp
    carbon fiber +5hp
    TRD +5hp

The emblem costed more overnighted from Japan than the Stant fuel cap, but I got 20 imaginary hp!
