I have a 5-speed 3.4. blew a clutch the other day going through some rough terrain and had to jam the gear into second to get it to get into a parking lot. While I was on the road for a minute the gears obviously wouldn’t shift and I got a little bit of grinding between each gear. Am I being paranoid or will the transmission most likely be fine. I figure I mostly maybe stressed the synchros but don’t want to have to stress about having a transmission rebuild done now

Assuming it’s the 97. Probably OK. You can have the fluid drained and check for metal. You won’t really know until you get the truck back on the road.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    What kind of mileage .

Prices are still crazy but I would think about a new bearing kit while the transmission is out.

I had to pull the transmission after the new clutch was installed for that very reason.

    Good luck

You should be fine, when my last clutch blew at 280 I did similar. As long as you rev matched you shouldn't have done much damage.

    Mine was at 125,000 miles
After a coworker drove the truck 10 miles

I should mention they said they could drive a manual transmission

FYI you can rev match and shift without touching the clutch.

Yeah, bro, I’ve drive mine no clutch and rev match for fun. Super easy and it’s hard to wear out the Aisin Sycros. Most trans rebuilders don’t replace the sycros, they just do bearings.
