They’re already increasing prices at charging stations with new “fees “. They’ll figure out a way to make up for losses in their oil revenue. Next there’ll be Chevron, ARCO and Shell charging stations.

 

Yup. The biggest "they" is government. Taxes on a gallon exceed oil profit, by a lot. We haven't seen what the final solution is for taxing EV's, but I guarantee there will be one/multiple and EV's will NOT be cheaper to run than gas powered cars.

 

That may be, but kind of a comical point to make when the federal gas tax hasn't been raised in over 30 years at a flat 18.4 cents per gallon.

Yup, had a feeling Cali would be instantly brought up. Pennsylvania is pretty bad too for gas tax.

 

Have clients that recently moved here to Idaho from Cali, absolutely thrilled with our gas prices.

Currently fairly low, housing prices on the other hand not so much.

 

PAs gas tax is high because a lot of it is used to fund the state police who have to patrol rural areas who don’t want to pay taxes for their own police force.

If the 9 states follow through with their legislation to ban new gasoline-powered vehicles in 2035, automakers will cease to offer gasoline-powered vehicles in the US. Existing gasoline-powered vehicles run for what, 15 years on average? By 2050 most gas pumps would have disappeared. I won't even reach retirement age by then. If I ever have grandkids, they'll probably grow up not knowing how to operate a gas pump...

Gas TAX! You guys don't know how good you have it in the USA. Current gas tax in my Province is $1.74 us gallon. That's just the tax. A US gallon of gas is currently $6.61.

 

Good thing too considering it's obviously not being directed to rebuilding our infrastructure.
