Read dum brake locking up periodically

    It very may well help, until you can look at it, an auto in Park is not gonna roll away without the parking brake.

    Maybe you've got a rock or pebble lodged in one of the springs or something came loose. I wouldn't drive it until you get it sorted.

    Do the bell cranks on the backside of the wheels (the levers that the ebrake cable hooks to) have any signs of damage (they should look symmetrical to each other)? I bent a bell crank 4wheeling in my 3rd gen 4runner (same style drum brakes) and had similar issues with the tire locking up on me and also heating up and smoking the brakes. Mine wouldn’t free itself though, I had to keep backing off the star adjuster wheel though the little window on the back to free it up until I replaced the bell crank. It’s worth looking at since it’s easy to see.

    Its a drum brake, all drum brakes are the same. You can probably look up on google about drum brakes locking up while driving and find a generic answer
