Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
A pic from the same snow trails from a couple days ago.

At the bottom of the FSR where the West Kelowna fires this year took out close to 100 homes and thousands of acres, are these deep tree holes.

I have never seen it quite this bad in other fire zones I have seen in BC. I guess the soft dry soil lets the extreme heat take out the entire trunk and root system.

This tree hole is 2 foot x 1 foot width and over 8 feet deep. There are thousands of these in the burn area. Very dangerous for any wildlife, and anyone who goes hiking in those areas.

Just teaching the youngest how to drive the trails. Forget how capable this truck is stock some times. IMG_4859.jpg IMG_4860.jpg

Good job starting them young like that! Grow that experience.

Hey, these trucks are fine stock and take you to 95% of the spots you could hope to go.

I admire a shiny lifted truck with big rubber, but my mostly stock trucks have not limited me in over 500 trips over 40 years like these pics. Jeez, one of my “secret” fishing lakes in central BC, takes me 1.5 hours to drive the last mile. Crap trail but the truck handles it fine. Fishing is insane there for trophy size trout, and no competition but a shit drive back out.

Had my 2016 Taco (used truck) for 5.5 years now, and pushing over 160 trips with it now.

Only upgrades in all that time just better tires on my trucks, 10 ply or E rated, and slightly stiffer shocks. Rear air bags on my Taco helps a lot for frequent heavy loads. That’s it for upgrades in my lifetime.

Frequent rock crawling? Yes, get a beefed up lift kit and sliders for that kind of adventure.

Have a blast out there with your kids. Can’t be beat!

Thanks man she had a blast out there. Moving from my 19 to this 23 makes me appreciate just how much Toyota put in to this truck. Still wish the OR was a tad stiffer but it works. Picture of the 19 for reference for what I am use to. IMG_2813.jpg

    Both trucks very nice.

I did add Bilstein 5100 to my TRD OR, as I found the OEM shocks too bouncy for my roads. Bilstein 5100 front and back, and much stiffer. No lift.

I didn’t realize folks didn’t know that ALL rental cars are 4-wheel drive!! Been the case for every rental car I’ve ever had! Lol

Ok- I know it’s not a four wheeling pic. But I posted it for two reasons. My mom was admitted to the hospital Dec 15. She has been in ICU and on a ventilator since Dec 21. I had two vehicles- I also own a Toyota Venza that sacrificed its life for mine New Years on I-70 at the base of Floyd Hill westbound. A semi truck had lost control and rolled over the center concrete median and ended up on fire on the eastbound side of the highway. I hit a large piece of debris on the highway, airbags deployed and I ended up bouncing off the guard rail on the right side the highway. I never saw what I hit- turns out it was the front axle assembly of the semi truck. According to witnesses, I was airborne and about three feet off the ground at one point. I walked away. I am now driving my “toy” as my daily. It has gotten me to a bunch of amazing places including this place where I can spend valuable time with my mom. Its off road capabilities pale in comparison to the reliable transportation they provide. I haven’t missed a day driving from Idaho Springs to Aurora to see my mom. That’s the first reason- to praise the trucks every day value. Last reason- please send positive energy and prayers for my mom! Thank you!

Crumple zones took most, else you would have looked like that door.

Glad you are here to report it.

Thank you all! I am very lucky no doubt. Reinforced my already strong faith in Toyotas
