I just replaced my dash lights. Took the old ones out and put in the new ones exactly how the old ones were but they aren’t turning on. I tried to put the old ones back but now they won’t light up either. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Also all the other lights for check engine and stuff still work it’s just the dash lights that are out

Unfortunately that’s not the problem. I tried plugging the dimmer back but it didn’t change anything when I moved the dial. But I did notice when I was taking it apart that the electrical stuff for the dimmer might be messed up. It looks fine to me but I’m open to a second opinion
