Cruise Control issue

    2008 Tacoma Access 4WD 6cyl
    Here’s a head scratcher:
    2008 Tacoma base model 4x4 6 cyl.
    When the headlights are on, cruise control will not turn on. Turn the headlights off, cruise control will turn on. Turn headlights back on and the cruise control works fine. So that takes out the fuse being an issue and others. Ideas?

    Yes but I’ve had them in for at least a year.

    I'd start there, if they are backfeeding voltage into the stop light circuit it will kick the cruise off.
