I need to replace my fuel pump and only see the real options being either Denso or Delphi

With the truck being 23 years old I was thinking of just replacing the whole assembly - but only Delphi offers that option (Delphi Fuel Pump DHP10254 - https://www.autozone.com/fuel-deliv...-unit/p/delphi-fuel-pump-dhp10254/1114062_0_0)

Denso is just the pump no matter where I look - (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00108CKIG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)

Even called a dealer and they don't sell the full assembly you have to piece it together

I've read threads on Delphi pump quality - and know Denso is preferred - but would it be suggested (because of part options) to just replace the pump - or logic says to replace the whole assembly regardless if Delphi is the only option?

I put in the Amazon Denso pump, it was an EXACT match to my OE one that I took out. The OE is the Denso... swap with confidence.

I just did mine. Replaced it with a Denso from Autozone. Got the screen/strainer from there as well.

20230324_183409.jpg I did mine with an oreilys fuel pump cause I was stuck and could not plan for getting Toyota parts. It was their best one for what it's worth. I rebuilt / reconditioned the parts and pieces on the hanger assembly bought a new fuel sock put it together and replaced in truck properly. Still Runs great after 8k.

I would replace the whole thing… after the years the resistance track for the fuel level sending unit wears and it will have drop outs or not work at all. In some vehicles I have worked on the actual resistance changes over a period of time and you run out of fuel when the sending unit tells the gauge you have 1/4 tank.

Thanks for the help! I replaced the fuel pump but turns out it wasn't the issue after all smh

However - the truck has 425,000 miles on it so maybe I can just chalk it up to preventative maintenance?

how long does a fuel pump typically last? I know the answers are "until they're bad" but just don't want to feel foolish for replacing the original pump when it wasn't the issue lol even though it had 425K on it
