Thanks Charli. I really didn't mean to steal the OPs smoke here, but this thread brought back some things I try not to think about.

There was no way on Earth I was ever, ever going to quit fighting for her. That was the longest 16 months of my life, worrying about her every moment. I didn't sleep, so i worked two full time jobs. I kept playing Queensryche's Silent Lucidity over and over. I still have a rock here, it's in the curio cabinet and I can see from where I'm sitting now. It's all scuffed up, I kicked that rock down what had to have been 1000 miles of streets while fighting for her.

I just tucked her into bed. For all the crap I've been through the past couple months, she makes it worth it to keep trying.

Thank you for not giving up on getting your baby back. There's no telling what would have happened to her had she stayed with the egg donor. She's lucky to have you for a dad.

I'm so sick of moms who do this crap getting custody just because they are "mom" and the judges and lawyers who allow this to happen.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your daughter.

I know you had no intention of stealing the thread--I didn't mean to start the hijacking!

There is so much press for the "deadbeat dads," but there should be a ton of press for all of you guys too--there are too many men out there fighting the good fight as you did who need hope.

Mu daughter's GAL told this marital master I was the better parent, that work of art ignored that too. My ex's lawyer even went as far as to fire her as a client and tell the court HE thinks she should be with me. Ignored.

The (what turned out to be) final hearing, we had the Nashua Telegraph in the courtroom, we had an "impartial" attorney in taking notes. We were prepared to file judicial misconduct on the basis of gender bias on this marital master. Don't know if she saw all the high-powered ones we had sitting in there, but she finally turned custody over to me.

I heard a couple stories about this marital master (aw WFT her name is ALICE LOVE and she sits in the Hillsboro County Superior Court in Nashua, NH), I know one is true, a father was going through what we did and was treated the same by her, he made a sign saying something like "my child is in danger and master love doesn't care", walked up and down in front of the courthouse...love had him arrested. That one I know is true. The other one, a father provided proof his child was in danger, love ignored it, and the child was killed by the mother. I HOPE that one isn't true.

Either way that bitch has some serious answering to do eventually.

BTW...get that FAS documented NOW. I had a doctor say the same thing about my daughter (my ex thought since she was pregnant it was a good time to start liking wine) but when it came time to say it in court this doctor "forgot" he'd said that.

Beileve it or not, you have to go to the SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES to have a judge disbarred! By having the press there, and that impartial attorney taking notes, we were hoping to put enough pressure on her to wake her up. Apparently it worked, but we were prepared to go as high as we needed to. My lawyer told me he would not charge me for fighting her, it was "the right thing for him to do".

I should have pursued going after her, but when I first grabbed her back from the ex I instantly forgot everything that had happened over the past 16 months.

Completely understandable--you have to focus on your daughter now. She is far more important than a drawn-out legal battle! I'm sure that you will anyway, but keep everything that you have (documentation-wise), just in case she ever tried to get her back.

I've heard too many stories like yours of late. Something needs to change, but I don't know how to change it. The media would need to be involved, but they seem to be ignoring the problem. Child support seems to be the root of the problem--these women are more interested in the money than in the child. Hubby told me of one guy he talked to who told his ex, "just give me the kids and I'll keep paying you the support." She did. A year and a half later, he filed for custody, and the ex said she wanted them back--because otherwise she would lose the money (this after she had to subpoenaed to court and hadn't so much as eyeballed them in a year and a half!). The judge said "Nope!" But he got a good judge and those seem few and far between.

About a year after I got her home the ex called and wanted me to send her to Indiana for visitation. I said no, she is far enough behind in school already, not going to pull her out for a month.

She got all mouthy, told me she "doesn't need my shit", hung up.

I called back, got her boyfriend. Asked for her, this dink says "and what if I don't get her?". I said "just the fact you're dumb enough to be with her tells me you're too stupid for me to worry about, but if you really wanna get involved you can join her in paying me support". Then I hung up. She called back and I told her "I asked for no support from you in court because I don't want to deal with you ever again, but the next time you act tough to me I will file for support". And I hung up. She has never called back again. That was 10.5 years ago.

I can still find her on the internet, keep track of her. Far as I know she has no idea where we are.

Wow! That's alot! Better safe than sorry though! I don't know squat about geneticists, but they sound like there would be a long wait!
