That's a very different hardware and sensor system. In the 2nd gen, it's "better" than the non TRD. Third gen ATRAC gets mixed reviews.

TRD Pro ATRAC = Electric-hydraulic brake booster with lots of electronic communication for "precise" individual wheel control

Anything else is a normal vacuum brake booster with standard ABS module. Some dumber calculating is done to "help" the driver maintain traction

I only know this because I went down a rabbit hole looking to do individual wheel hand brakes...

The A-TRAC is nice. I just don't like the sounds it makes even though it's fine. It's got me through some obstacles withe ease. The downside of it is the master cylinder, if it takes a crap I can only get a new one through toyota and they're like $1500. Which is why avoid using it as much as possible

Exactly. I priced them just to see if there was a way to use the hardware. Noped out after I saw how expensive they were. RIP if it overheats or lets out the smoke.

I'm picturing a bunch of bicycle brake levers set up in your center console like throttle controls for multi-engine aircraft

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good body shop around Olathe? Insurance wants me to use my own to determine if it's fixable or not!

You aren't wrong... basically a bunch of these run by servos... I'm not proud of that design

My wife and I have used the Adam's Toyota body shop for insurance claims. They did great work for hail and some damage from a contractor on my truck.

Servo control or not, you'd be required to put brass knuckles on the end with that design.

I'm still considering it as an option, I can definitely incorporate that element into the final iteration. Although it was just going to be a bracket mount for the 4 cylinders and servos with a cover.

Dunno how people have issues with this. Theres been very few times I’ve turned it off, usually just if you actually need wheel spin for some reason.

I would say that's fixable. Looks like there might not be any frame damage either

Possibly. Depends on how bad the cab is crinkled.

Also i think if the airbags go off, dont they usually want to total it?

always hated it on my 13 it would lock the wheel and not let me turn and would do odd shit with the brakes so i always turned it off and i have better control over the truck with it off
