It does, it just never looks like that.

There is a good 10ft of elevation to the septic and another 4-5ft to the house so nothing was even close to being damaged

 

Never want to live somewhere with a sump pump or a pump to keep my septic moving away from my house.

Further North you go, the higher water table it goes it seems. No risk of the septic floating away, it's a big 1,000 gallon tank buried 4 feet in the ground, but the whole system is 59 years old and is due for a replacement so I gotta keep and eye on it.

 

I have never had water in my sump pit since moving here.
