Replaced my 11 year old stock lights with some BLHM lights with VLED switchbacks and a 12 volt solutions remote start.

 

Do you have a link and a video of the switchback in action?

 

Rear is better so far! Need to do the fronts before I report back. Need to find time and I don't want this -30 weather when pulling it into the shop because it will take a while to heat up.

 

Put on a lift with new wheels and tires today to my 2015 TRD sport

 

Painful but…. There’s something about doing it right the first time.

 

How difficult was the remote start installation?

 

They aren't too bad the hardest part is finding and plugging in the door locks harness in the driver's side kick panel.. I have the accessorides starter and had them set it up for 30 minutes run time for my K9.

The Tacoma I just bought used has the same one. I was thinking about taking it off and selling it, because, as you said, grandpa.

But, then I used it... Over and over.

It's staying. I too, may be called grandpa.

 

Tried a cheapo ebay grille that I hoped was color matched. Not quite a match...

Put the chrome back on and decided to keep the chrome.

Painted the emblem instead.

I think it turned out well.

The stock radio in my 2008 was so bad that I just knew I needed a new antenna. Wrong. It was the radio. After switching to a budget Atoto A6 unit FM signals are crystal clear. I think it is easier to swap radios than the antenna in these trucks.

 

Installed a fire extinguisher in the bed of my truck. Bought a quick detach mount from Amazon for about $25 and some special T-Nuts from Hondo Garage. I bought some stainless steel 5/16 x 1" screws from Lowe's that worked perfect for attaching the mount to the T-Nuts with some blue loctite for good measure. I wanted to have it mounted closer to the tailgate however it interfered with the crossbar from the tonneau cover. I don't like the idea of keeping a fire extinguisher inside the cab, especially under my legs or where it could injure a passenger. Behind the back seat would probably work too however I have subwoofer boxes and an amp back there.
