In those situations where you have a chance to control(if there is such a thing), say driving over a bridge, would a locker engagement without any gas input help steer the truck straight? It is pushing straight. But straight into the rails?

I noticed only in 2WD mode, when the locker is on, the traction control still kicks in.

No, because you have now locked the back tires together. This does not allow the stability control to brake each brake individually to help steer the vehicle in a skid. Traction control still works when locked but not in the same way as when the diff is unlocked.

There's a reason traction control limits throttle input in a slippery situation.

Locker is a no-no for ice. By locking the rear wheels together, you guarantee that they both break loose the second you turn at all (since neither one is allowed to speed up/ slow down). Also, the whole back end pitches downhill if your tires slip at all (vs. a controlled one tire fire, which is not a problem on a slick surface).

Good to know and glad I didn’t engage it the other day. What got me sideways was too much throttle. And it was slight, but just enough. Stuff is scary, particularly oncoming traffic on a two lane road.
