Owner of my first Tacoma. Very excited, have wanted a truck for a long time. And I have a question that concerns the rail caps on the top of the sides of the bed.
I noticed that some are solid and cover completely. But some are like mine and have fittings that are coming out. Please see picture. Can someone tell me what these are, if they come stock, or even if they are bolted or welded on? The second picture shows my bed and it has a very unusual fitting, it looks like something that had something bolted into it.
If anyone could offer any info that would be great.
    Thanks so much.

Maybe the truck had a hard camper shell mounted on it in the past

I’m pretty sure these are for the factory tonneau cover. You can usually source the cover on Facebook marketplace and should be an easy install since you have all the mounting hardware. Anyways welcome to Tacoma world!

Looks like I have another question… it looks like I have all the hardware except the bolt and the middle bracket….when you purchase the OEM cover from dealer does it come with all the hardware? Or can you purchase just the cover? I should be able to find the bolt and bracket somewhere on line? Thanks in advance.
