Just purchased a 2023 Tacoma TRD Offroad Long Bed Double Cab 3.5 L Auto Ice Cap

Although Toyota supposedly has improved the rust preventative treatment of their frames, I was considering this April getting the LineX undercoating and treatment for around $650. I reside in PA; so, we get the salt crap they throw on the roads for ice and snow. LineX suggested I wait until winter is over and do it in April. Anyway, do you think getting this done is a good idea or a waste of money?

LineX, no. They have been a few posts of people that bought LineXed frames and it has not been good, seems to trap the brine behind it and hold it on the frame

Hard wax (think Cosmoline) on a clean(new) surface or oil (usually lanolin based, Fluid Film, Wool Wax, New Hampshire Oil) are the best options

Never get a hard undercoating. Get Fluid Film applied yearly and the truck will last pretty much forever.

Fluid film is the way to go. Get a 6 pack of cans and go to work in your driveway.

Do not get rubberized or a hard undercoating. It'll look great on the outside while the inside turns to powder.

If you don't want to diy it, then any major city should have a place that will do it. Just make sure it's oil or lanolin based, so avoid places like zeibart.
