just good Pa shale on the side of the mountain.

The only way the Bob sled run goes away is enough warm temperatures to melt.

Some winters it could be an easy 10" of ice and snow pack at most a plow will push off the fresh snow.

Little side project I've been working on the last month or so. Us Boosted guys over in the Supercharged BS thread have been modifying our blowers and doing custom supporting mods for some time now. This VW roller bearing is for creating a belt wrap mod to help with belt slip for us running a smaller pulley on the blowers. I did this mod to my truck almost a year ago and others who want to do this same mod are required to trim some material off the standoff.. which most arent able to do themselves. I made this little tool out of some scrap steel (first prototype was from aluminum and wasnt beef enough) to hold these VW roller bearings so I can easily trim them down to the standoff height needed. They are case hardened then turns to butter pretty much, but not a lot of room to hold onto them and indicate. This tool made it much easier this go around..

Howdy y'all! I'm 1,000 posts behind again. :annoyed:

Been waiting for snow so coyote season can get going. We've only been out once with one down.

    Otherwise...

In late Dec one of the guys I hunt with shot a nice buck with his crossbow so I did a European mount for him. The buck had a very cool drop tine that he kept stabbing himself in the neck with.

Although our winters have been lacking snow, I was thinking that a sled might be useful at times. I was looking at ice fishing sleds and couldn't really justify the $300 - $400 price tag of the ones that caught my eye, so I started brainstorming. I have a few plastic barrels and scrap lumber, so I decided to see what I could come up with.

I knew it would be a lot heavier than the plastic ones, but I figured I could pull it for lighter loads and tow it for heavier. I haven't tried pulling it with more than about 100 lbs in it, but that was easy enough.

My youngest is a 4th year electrical apprentice, so he got me some 1 ⅛" o.d. conduit and did a couple of bends for me, and I made a quick release tow bar.

Not sure how much I'll use it, but I have it, and it was something to do. :D

Apparently we are getting a snow storm over the next couple of days, so maybe I'll get to try it out.

Hope everyone is doing ok, I gotta go back and try to catch up again.

Well, I Mght have to do some inventive electrical work. I'm no electrician when it comes to residential. But I'm thinking of doing a junction box, then flush mount an outlet in the wall. Wife hates how far out the new range sits..20240107_134801.jpg
