    Howdy!

I experienced the common melted blower motor connector recently. I first noticed that I lost my low and medium blower options.

I went through and replaced the resistor as well as the pigtail connector and blower motor. The crimps are tidy.

The blower is Toyota, resistor/harness Dorman, and the pigtail connector with 1 pair is Amazon no name. I noticed the pigtail came with 12ga not 10ga wire — not sure if problematic.

All levels of low/medium/high work. I can hear that the blower is ramping up and down as well.

Now, I am stuck with my limited experience. I am barely getting air flow through the vents. I do notice a little more air at speeds above ~30mph. But it is weak. I’ve also tried closing some vents and opening others with no luck.

I tried to reverse the wiring to see if I reversed but no change. I also tried a new blower but same issue.

Full transparency. I did snap one head off of the blower mount screws but the blower seems tight. Stupid, using a 6mm on the 5.5mm hex!

I tested without a cabin filter and checked the intake for blocks. Same results. Definitely a slight breeze but not the same velocity as when I first got the truck in ‘19.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or should I consider taking it to the pros at this point?

My frozen butt thanks you a million in advance!!

Did you verify the blower is running the correct direction as indicated by the arrow on the blower wheel?

Dude, I thought I checked. I checked again just so I could say yes -- blowing in reverse....

Swapped the conductors and blowing good.

Thank YOU!!! Hope you have a nice weekend.
