Hello everyone, I am currently doing my brakes this evening my 2017 TRD Sport 6 Speed and I just got off the passenger side caliper. There are these metal rings on the piston but I don’t seem them in my dealers diagram. Are these aftermarket? It had aftermarket EBC’s when I bought it. I did notice it was missing the factory shims between the pads. Could this be those replacements? I bought the shims already so I don’t want to double up if I don’t need to. Thanks in advance

^Yep, those circular shims are aftermarket. If you new pads came with shims, these could be discarded.

I have EBCs. Those are the shims. The rings are just fancy ones that go in the piston ring where it hits the back of the pad you can take a little sand paper to them and then add a little brake grease to them.
