Bilstein 6112/5160; JBA HD UCAs; 1.5" 3-Leaf AAL's w/ overload; OME CB drop; RCI aluminum skids w/ catalytic converter shields; Wheeler's U-Bolt flip kit with Superbumps; TRD Pro 4-Runner Wheels; Falken Wildpeak AT4W (265/70/17); Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport (Yellow) fogs; CaliRaised 32" hidden light bar; Morimoto XB LED headlights with upgraded HD harness; Unifilter mod; Rear-View mirror riser bracket; Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau cover; New OEM color-matched grille; Bumpershellz color-matched rear bumper cover; Ultra-Gauge MX 1.4 w/Spiker mount; Baja Designs S2 Sport Ditch Lights with SDHQ brackets; Fog Light Anytime Mod; Overland Tailor Tune (OTT); Yaesu FTM-150 GMRS/Ham radio; Viofo A229+ Dash Cam
I was planning on buying a set of Kings for my truck to replace the Bilstein 5100s however I decided with my better judgement to get a set of 6112s for my needs. I would rather spend that extra money on regearing my truck for better drivability and MPGs. I already have the OTT tune and plan on upgrading to 285s with new wheels. I run an empty bed most of the time and don't have much weight other than a full set of aluminum skids. Would 4.10s from ECGS be a good enough jump without gearing too low? I would definitely go lower if I was much heavier, but in my case I just need the extra "oooomph" on the highway as well as better MPG. As we know the 2nd Gens are already gas hogs compared to 3rd Gens. Thanks for any help!

I have 4.56 with OTT and 285/70/17. Aluminum skids, sliders, and smartcap. I used to run 255/85/16’s and I could smoke ‘em. The 285’s made it feel kind of stock again.
If I’m driving up through the mountains I’ll use 4th, or it tends to ‘search’ a bit.

4x4 you have to change front gears too.

I'd atleast go 4.56. 4.10 wouldn't be worth the work/cost in my opinion. Auto or manual?

Lets do better people and stop being lazy. When talking tire size all three elements matter. To just say 285 only tells us the section width. The aspect ratio and rim diameter matter. The type of tire, weight and tread pattern also matter. Giving us more info on exactly what you are trying to gain by increasing tire size/how do you plan on using your truck will also influence choice.
