    I have a 2018 Tacoma with 3.5 liter v6 automatic that eats alternators 3 with 98000 miles any suggestions? The truck is supercharged.

    have you put a volt meter to see what the alternator is pumping out?

    What part of the alternator fails? How old is your battery? Has the battery been load tested? Is the serp belt too tight?

    What kind of electrical mods do you have?

    Do you have any devices that pull high amperage for long periods of time?

    2 replacement alternators from Toyota or a parts store?

    Something else is wrong, need more info.

    I’ve been on here daily, if not more, for nearly five years, and I’ve read about three failed alternators,,,, and all em are yours.

    It doesn't sound to me like the alternator is a fault. I run a AGM battery and had my KDMax tuner adjust the alternator output to 14.4 volts with no problem. There must be something upstream from the alternator causing the issue. Modern alternators are controlled by the ECU.

    Thank you for responding. Yes I have voltage is 13.8 at idle then as the alternator gets warm after the truck has been ran approximately 30 minutes the voltage drops to 11.8 volts as the truck continues to run the voltage continues to drop

    You need a OEM or NAPA alternator. If you have used Advanced Auto, Orielleys, Autozone, etc - all junk. Mostly the voltage regulators are chinese junk.

    When asking for help to troubleshoot problems on an oniine forum, it is important to add as many details as possible because no one online can physically walk up to the problem and observe it, we have to create the scenario in our heads and with the amount of psychotropics ingested on a daily basis around here, lack of detail can result in some very dystopian theories and far fetched solutions.
