Most of the weather on news channels around here do the hot coffee a couple times a year

Whatever you do don't leave your shotgun shells in the truck overnight before going to a shoot the next day. Wait a minute... If someone is from Wisconsin and I'm shooting against you please do :p

    @Cold Iron
I graduated from Remer (good ole Northland High) and spent 25 years in the cities before moving to Avon and then out to Montana. I remember Frank and Amelia, Paul Douglas and the guy from WCCO radio that did weather (mind fart on his name). When Embarass got to -60 it was something like -52 in the cities, my work decided that would be a great time for me to drive a diesel truck out to South Dakota. It took me 2 hours to get from 280 and Hennepin to Shakopee and another hour to get to Jordan where I frostbit my finger changing fuel filters. Truck wouldn't go more than 20 crossing the Minnesota river bridge on 35. then slowed to 15 getting to Shakopee where I could pull over and try to get it to warm up. Fun days!

I know most of the roads and trails between Embarrass and the tip of the Arrowhead. Hunted grouse with the dogs off most of them although I've settled in just Cook County for the most part last 8 years or so. And the Sunset Country of NW Ontario. Too damn many people anymore had to keep going North LOL.

Yeah even before you hit the Canadian border they cut diesel blends pretty close IMO, too close.

Hopefully no long term damage to your fingers from the frostbite!

Good evening everyone. The wind is howling and the temps are dropping. The 'polar vortex' artic air mass is supposed to roll through tomorrow morning around 9am and stick around for a while. The highs will be below freezing ( but above zero) by Wednesday. The big snow storm that was forecasted for Tuesday had been down graded to a a few inches at most. Bummer..

I went to the Cabin Fever Expo today in Lebanon, PA. It used to be a small Model Engineering Society club that has morphed into a lot of used machining equipment, scratch built steam engines, a big pool for RC boats, and other types of RC machines. They had steam powered model trains in another hall. The RC gravel pit is huge, too many damn people blocking the isles and the pit is now roped off, you're supposed to sit in some bleachers to watch the action.

I ran into a buddy of mine that hand forms 1/10th scale Toyota truck bodies from .005 thick aluminum. He used to make them for his own use, to simulate body damage while 4wheeling. He now does a side business selling the formed/assembled bodies. He had one on display that another friend of his had painted and weathered, I thought that it looked really good!

I was nerding out over the large scale live steam locomotives. G scale @ 1:22.5 This one used coal to burn in the boiler to make the steam.

    The gravel pit

95% of those machines are electro/hydraulic.

I learned this on my old snowblower about 12 yrs ago. Ethanol free is a bear to find around here so I go super unleaded (93) and stabilizer instead, zero issues since I started that.

Ummm what are we shipping here?

I recommend the new Saw movie. Or perhaps Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

    Good morning :pccoffee:

-12° and wind is screaming. Wind chill must be cold enough to freeze the balls off that brass monkey. Dogs too, they didn't dilly dally around outside. Boiler is struggling and long cycling at least it isn't short cycling. Another cup of coffee and time to take a look at it. 61° inside instead of 68° where it is set.

Good Sunday morning. We are a balmy 19 degrees here with a real feel of 6 degrees. Got a few inches of snow that I have to remove from the sidewalk and deck before we go to church. I have a feeling my little dog isn't going to want to take her walk today.

And this is why they postponed the game

    OP playoff storm.jpg

Snow to continue through the day until tomorrow morning. Heaviest band moved South overnight but moving back North soon.

They are paying $20 an hour to shovel snow starting in 24 hours when it is over if you want to pick up some extra cash. Lot of people will be there as always. They are used to digging it out and of course has to be done by hand.

Lot of people wondering how Mahomes helmet cracked last night. Because some people just don't know what they don't know. Living in the coldest State in CONUS I know, most things aren't made for the cold. At least real cold.

Good morning everyone. It's around 27° right now with a chance of a snow squall as the artic front rolls through. After seeing Weezas screen grabs of her weather, I really can't complain too much about it being " cold".

Time to make some coffee and get moving.
