Do you like the stock OR wheels?

  1. Yes, I like them.

    52.8%
  2. They're okay. I don't hate them enough to get new wheels. Still not as bad as the chrome grille.

    33.7%
  3. No, they're hideous. Can't get the snowflake image out of my head.

I think they look good. I was shopping for an OR or a Sport. Knew I would have to replace the wheels/tires on the Sport.
Found an OR in the exact config I wanted. Kept it mostly stock. 4 years later, I'm still happy with it.

They are better looking than the uber-popular Methods everyone else has...

I really dislike some wheel design elements - mainly FLAT machined faces (especially when used aside painted surfaces), with the corresponding sharp edges.
Yes these are cost reduction tactics, BUT it is a very lazy approach to design and gives that cheap look and feel...

The other thing about these OR and Method wheels is that they are EVERYWHERE. At least you can greatly improve the OR wheels by blacking them out.

I liked the SCS Ray 10 when looking at Tacos, but found they only come in 17 and that is the wrong size for a taco that goes off-road in my opinion.

Sometimes the sport wheels look 'not so bad'... sometimes they look really bad. It depends on the owner additions to the specific taco, I guess...
I think the sport trim is the worst of all tacos. It looks super bland. Too much of one color everywhere, no contrasting elements and car sized / styled wheels and tires. Sorry - there is no such thing as a sport truck. That attempt looks wrong to me.
Not even the skewp saves it.

I kept my OEM wheels because I was surprised at how good they looked to me once I had the Taco. I looked for aftermarket wheels no more... The one thing I do not like is how much of a pain they are to clean.

Oddly, I think the SR's wheels might be the second best looking of the whole bunch.

I rattle canned some wheels on a fiat a long time ago. (It was on an old fiat - and it was actually - A looong time ago).
I sanded them properly gave them 3-4 coats of primer and then did 4-5 coats of paint. (Alll light coats). I allowed for proper drying at each step.

I really was not expecting much out of my efforts but 3-4 years later, the still looked great. Paints are much better these days. I would expect it would turn out well...
