I believe I have found the source of my cab leak. I have already replaced and resealed the third brake light and resealed around the shark antenna but was still getting water in the back. Look at the pics below. THIS is the source of my leaks. These are air vents in the back of the cab wall and sure enough after disassembly and running water over the back of the cab, the brake light and glass were leak-free but these vents allowed water to pour in. They are sealed with a rubber seal that eventually dries out. Horrible design. I’ll caulk all around these vents and test it again.

    Recall info:

    • The OEM 3rd brake light in the 2016-2018 Tacoma is poorly sealed and allows water to leak into the cabin.
    • The water soaks the headliner, leaks behind panels, and soaks the rear seats.
    • Toyota released a service bulletin in 2018 and covers the problem, but only under the standard 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty.
