As others said ... ratchets in common-use size. 2 ft breaker bar. Pliers, needle-nose pliers. Wide-blade 1 ft screwdriver makes a good pry-bar. Fuses. Ground tarps. Rain ponchos fold up small. I like a large maglite flashlite with C/D cells ... steel makes good hammer. Zip ties, large. Duct tape. Collection stores in small spaces

I also keep spare low-beam bulbs in the glove box in case they burn out and some cop is being a d^ck. Even have a spare brake light bulb from replacing only one.

I have $40 in dollar-coins (coins do not fly in the wind) to buy a few gallons of gas and food/drink if the plastic is lost or corrupted.

A pair of panty hose will also work. Light and compact.

I usually use a large beach towel. Thick and warm. Also doesn't take up a ton of space.

Everyday just a cheap ratchet set and cheap flashlight. Mainly because they’ll probably just get stolen.

Even cell phones without a contract dial 911. Assuming you have a signal.

Tire plugs as mentioned and a wide assortment of hose clamps. I came upon a guy who blew an auto transmission hose off in the middle of nowhere. I gave him a hose clamp and he was back in business
Never seen a fellow so happy. I carry all my stuff in a 24" toolbag and add to as neccesary. I always keep a floor pump in the truck for sports balls, bicycle tires, air bag suspension, you name it.
I carry a shovel, two 2x10"x6' pieces of wood (always come in handy) a blanket, a liter of water, bunch of dried food. Lots of lighters, a recovery strap, Silky type pull saw.

If you get E rated tires, you better have a drill, and a bit. A hammer and all my tools on board could not solve the problem. Could not get a plug in to save my life.

Interesting. Did you have the auger?
I haven't had to plug a E rated tire yet. That being said some e rated tires are more bombproof than others
My 56lb bfg KO's would probably take a hammer to insert a plug in. They're tough! My new Firestones, although e rated, just don't seem as rock solid. Half the time I run my 2nd wheel set with P rated tires.

All I know is I tried the tools with plug set. That tool would not /barely drill the hole for the plug. I barely got it in after 2 hours, but then had to drive to a tire shop to get a patch done.

That sucks! Must have been one helluva strong nail or screw to puncture that tire. After reading this, I'm ok never finding out if my kit can plug a E rated tire!
