Is there a shop in the northeast that can and will regear a Tacoma? Finding someone that knows the differentials and is willing to do it is tough

How far are you willing to travel?
My buddy's shop in Elite Transmission, in Palmer, MA, is a full service driveline shop. Only one ho touches my stuff up here. More often then not, he has n FJ in there, seems pretty popular with that crew.

I’m more than willing to drive if someone is well versed in them and I’m confident in their ability

Well, he built the rear JK axle we swapped under my WJ, did my Frontier, and tons of work on my Super Duty.
I'm picky as hell, and for driveline work, he is the only one I trust up here.
There are others, but, I don't have personal experience.

Another option would be East Coast Gear Supply. Send your center sections, and get them back, or pay the core, and swap, send yours back.

You can call them( ECGS) and they’ll recommend a shop or 2 around you. I’d trust the shop Chase is recommending if it’s not too far.

My issue with that is shipping. How do you ship the diff’s back without paying an arm and a leg. Also, has your shop in MA done a Tacoma? Apparently the front diff’s are awkward and most shops won’t touch one

If you're handy with a wrench ecgs is the way to go. Can knock out front and rear in a day and have the truck back on the road

I’m capable and also have a local shop that would tackle it in the event that I don’t want to. I just assumed shipping them back was going to ruin me wanting to go that route. But it doesn’t sound bad
