Greetings, I recently installed a Pioneer 3800 NEX in my 2015 along with an idatalink Maestro rr2. The Maestro has the ability to create a hotkey to activate a front camera using a steering wheel button but it does not seem to function when programmed. Anyone else have a similar issue or any thoughts?

The camera works fine if manually selected through the Pioneer software, I'd just like to push a button and have it pop up when needed rather than drill through the Pioneer software to get to the option.

    Thanks!

I would contact idatalink and ask them.. Their customer service is top notch!

Are you sure you didn't make it a hold function?

I tried it both ways. Neither works.

I would assume that your button works for other functions (vol up/vol down)? If that is the case, then the issue is the interface between the RR2 and your HU. You might check a Pioneer board or like Purpleman said, contact iDatalink.

I plan on calling Idatalink when I have time. Thanks for the reply!

When you programmed your RR2, did you change the button's function to activate the camera?

Yes, I also tried programming it to different buttons, removing completely and readding etc.

I am not sure if there have been any updates to this one, but if it helps anyone...I had the same issue with the Pioneer WC6600NEX on my 2020 over Maestro RR2. It appears the issue arose during a firmware upgrade of Maestro (latest was V2.4 at the time of this writing), but rolling it back to version 1.9 fixed the issue and the front camera would again trigger via hold of seek +. Note: My Pioneer had the latest version available of v3.04 during that process.

Having the same issue with my RR2 and NEX. IIRC the programmable outputs are basically relay triggers and won't power the device by itself. I've been too lazy to configure mine that way though, so my steering wheel buttons can just cycle to the front cam once I'm already on the camera screen. Seems like it should just activate the camera instead of making you jump thru the hoops though, as I can activate the rear cam at any time via a different button. If the Maestro had an option in the settings to let you toggle the 'second camera input' that would fix the issue if your camera was hot all the time.

Following the thread though in case they come back with another option to enable it.
