I need an ECU for a 95 Tacoma, number 89661-04050

Anyone have one that I can plug in/don’t need to program?

I am located in Staunton VA

I have the old one I pulled that had a fried circuit and wasn’t communicating with any scan tools. It could probably be rebuilt for cheaper than a used one though. It’s for an R150/V6 btw; I’m not sure if that’s the same as OP’s truck or not.

I think I have one out of a 95 4 cylinder 5 speed, I’ll look for it in the garage tomorrow if that’s the one you need

So I haven’t got around to putting an update on that yet, sorry.

Basically I thought it was fine and I pinpointed the issue to the Circuit Opening Relay, so I replaced that. It seemed to fix the issue but then it occasionally would crank up and immediately die. Giving it gas would save it and then it would idle and run perfectly. So I figure it’s either the ECU or the wiring in between that and the COR. CEL is also back. To be safe, I wired in a bypass switch to the COR so I won’t get stuck anywhere, and I’ve been driving it.

Whether the ECU is the problem or not, I figure it’s just good to have an extra, especially since I did open it up and found 2 capacitors that looked a little suspicious.

No, mines a 4cyl 3rz. Pretty sure yours wouldn’t work. Thanks though

I’ll also note, there is a reconditioned one on EBay for pretty cheap, I’m keeping my eye on it. Not sure how exactly trustworthy a reconditioned one would be though…

I wasn't able to find that ECU yet, I know its still here but in the meantime I wouldn't be scared of an ebay ECU, these don't really go bad very often and I imagine reconditioned means they wiped it off and posted it for sale

Thanks, I think I might go ahead and pull the trigger on the EBay one, I don’t wanna wait too long and have it sell
