That might be the root of my disappointment, I agree that the other bits are great and don’t regret them a bit. The funnel could have been pretty useful with a couple tweaks, but feels like a private label import add-on that should be sold for $5.99 on Amazon under the DONGBANGOUCH brand.

Right!? I've been using my Motivx kit for 2 years and have never spilled or missed / overfilled the funnel. Just pour normal and its all good.

My issue is that is has that molded in lip that holds oil. Can’t just leave it sit for a minute and only have a little film left like a conventional funnel; you get a full on spill/dribble-able amount of oil to clean up when you go to take it off. Is this petty? Oh heckin yes it is. But I got sucked in to the “Motive kit is the goat’s oats” hype here and I’m hoping maybe someone else will save the $15-$20 or whatever extra it cost with that stupid thing.

Toyota oil bottle screws right in. Other may also. Thread it in and cut to level. Free.

I'm with you on this one, exact same scenario. Just gonna have to suck it up and use the old funnel to feed into this thing; better than the shit show other messy two hand moves I;ve tried. (I know, 1st world problems... I need to use 2 hands and takes me 10 minutes to put oil in my $30k truck)

Still, dick move by Toyota not having the fill hole strait up like most cars.

How fast are u pouring it ? . It’s oil it’s meant to be poured slowly . I have never had an issue with it . I don’t use the big jugs of oil I use the quart ones more control of what’s coming out .

A thread about funnels? This might be a new low, even by TW's pathetic standards.

I preheat my oil, after I pre filter it, so it flows in nice and smooth!

The first time I spilled some oil.

Second time, I used an additional funnel with a nice lip for preventing spillage.
