Verdict is still out on that. They have to go to the port and get all their add on equipment so I would assume several more days before they are at the dealers.

    • Stronger skid plates.
    • Additional ground clearance in select trims.
    • AEV steel bumpers.
    • Closer cup holders to the driver and passenger.
    • New digital gauge cluster behind the steering wheel.

He has a signed purchase order with the vin and everything. Dealer told him his truck will be coming with the first load of tacomas they are getting.

I still would buy the gm over the toyota at this point if I were in the market for a new truck.

I had a 20 Colorado Z71 before my Tacoma, and I really liked the Colorado. It had heated seats and steering wheel and decent power and ride, everything I needed in a truck. Congrats on your new GMC.

I've only had Tacomas for trucks, but looking at a Colorado for my next also. Better looking, better power, better towing, and cheaper to boot!
Not impressed with anything on the new 2024.....especially the price.

i thought they dropped the 6' bed option in '23 and are just doing DCSB or, are you referring to the previous gen?

I was saying the new generation is a good-looking truck. I know they only make a 5 foot version now.

I love that truck but unless it's an optical illusion your front door is lower in the back than the front.

The Colorado destroys the Tacoma on looks and the power without the hybrid nonsense. So not to start a thermonuclear war but, is the Colorado as reliable? That really was my only concern when I decided on the 24. My 09 Sport, which I'm keeping, is still a beast.

I even considered a Ram 1500 since the etorque 5.7 gets around the same mpg as the Tacoma and Ram prices are plummeting here in the northeast. But ive got no experience with GM, Dodge and Ford products. Are they on par in 24?

Some would argue that the 24' Tacoma will be the best thing that ever happened to the Colorado...

Looks are subjective so can't agree with you that it has the Tacoma beat in that department...however I think the AT4 looks awesome compared to the Colorado. Only time will tell if it is reliable. They have had a lot of teething issues around over the air updates and other electrical gremlins and not to mention roofs caving in even from touch free car washes. Also seen some main seal failure issues. Here is a quote from the Colorado Forum "I’ve had my AT4 for just over nine months now, have had the various assortment of niggling issues we all complain about, dead battery, radio issues, limp mode, etc. but I sure do dig it!"

I am sure the Tacoma will have some issues as well.

I’m not sure the reliability question can be answered for 4-5 years. Might be able to spot a trend before that, but you need thousands of new owners to beat on them for awhile.

100,000 new 4th gen Tacoma owners by the end of 2024 would be a decent starter sample size.

GM got a lot right with the new Colo/Canyon. Toyota got a bit wrong on the 4th gen. will be interesting to see how it plays out.
